By random number generator, our winner for Native Plants of the Southeast is #1—Roseann Blacher!
 Congratulations, Roseann!

Roseann's favorite place to visit native plants is The Pocket, north of Rome, Georgia. She also mentioned the Berry College campus which I just happen to have a lovely picture of! My daughter has visited her friend there several times.

So gorgeous it's hard to believe it's real! Berry has one of the largest college campuses in the world I'm told, set on 27,000 mostly wild acres. Native plant enthusiasts would no doubt find plenty to marvel at! Anyway, I couldn't pass up the chance to show you a tiny slice of it (and this sweet photo!).

Favorite outdoor places of other giveaway participants include the following:

The top three favorites of this group of responders, all mentioned several times, were the North Carolina Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Virginia, and the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville.

Several participants suggested informal favorites such as, "the woods," "the mountains," "my grandmother's garden," or "my own backyard."

I liked reading about these special nature spots and thought the rest of you might, too. As we anticipate Spring, it's nice to be reminded that there are lots of beautiful and varied places to explore out there, and many interesting new plants to encounter along the way.

Thanks again to all of you who joined in! I wish I could give a copy of the book to each of you!
