Wood Flower

You might not want to try growing your own wood flower, since you would have to cut down a tree, hope for the right spores to come along, and then wait quite a while, to do it. But if you almost step on one when you're out for a walk with your camera, you can consider yourself regaled, snap its picture, and put it on your blog!

A maple tree once stood here, and those ruffly petals are turkey tails (the fungus Trametes versicolor) which I posted about in more detail here.
