Show Me Yours and I'll Show You Mine

Are you one of those people who can't resist variegated plants?  It seems to be a common phenomenon.  Those streaks or speckles make so many of us "ooh" and "ahh" and draw us over to touch or photograph.  Here is a variegated plant I had never seen before -- a banana -- in the conservatory at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont, NC.

Kylee at Our Little Acre has had the great idea to host a Conservatory Tour this month so we can all see each others' variegated bananas!  (And orchids, gingers, succulents...)  Aren't tropicals irresistible this time of year?  I can smell the warm dirt and feel the humidity now -- it has to be the next best thing to being in Hawaii.

Here are the instructions for the virtual tour if you would like to participate:  Visit your local conservatory during the week of January 23rd.  Take lots of pictures.  Make a blog post about your visit.  Go to this page and leave a comment with your link..  Kylee will post them all on her blog on January 30 along with map locations.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with -- where you will go and what you will see.  I don't want to give mine away, but a certain conservatory near me will be having their Orchid Spectacular that week!
